[drmchsr0 - 12 Days of Anime] TYPE-MOON IS AWESOME
on December 21st, 2011 at 12:00 pm
For TYPE-MOON fans, this year has been a very, very long time coming. Ever since that day in 2006 when Tsukihime was first released as a fan patch, fans old and new have been clamoring for a somewhat decent animated show.
Kara no Kyoukai came and went, but that’s not a 2011 thing. Still, it was a taste of the things to come.
Despite the initial mis-steps, TYPE-MOON fans have a lot to go BASED MADOKA about these days.
First up, there’s CARNIVAL PHANTASM. Admittedly, the whole “mock the entire company’s franchise by making anime crack” isn’t a very sound or good idea to begin with. Unfortunately for everyone, TYPE-MOON’s resident mushroom-in-charge took the idea (and the doujins), gave LOADS OF MONEY to a relatively new animation studio, and the result?
DELICIOUSNESS. [/Mo Rocca]
Bucephelas is probably the third best horse in anime history. Trombe (Ratsel’s DEAD HORSE) and FUUN SAIKI (Master Asia’s/Domon’s horse, THE FIRST ONE WITH IT’S OWN ROBOT) are better horses.
Next, we have the heavily-lauded Fate/Zero. Coming off the heels of the insanely popular magical series Puella Magi Madoka Magica, the author, Nasu fanboy and admittedly sadistic Urobouchi Gen has…. questionably brought life to the events before Fate/Stay Night. And then Nasu got the whole thing animated. And people are loving the everloving BASED MADOKA out of it, despite the dark tone, foregone conclusion and the fact that Waver is more moemoe than most moemoe females designed to give otaku a raging boner.
Who doesn’t want this scenario to happen?
And then there’s the fact that Aksys got Fate/Extra out in the States. In English. With glorious Japanese voices intact. Oh BASED MADOKA help me, I cannot unhear Cardcaptor Sakura as Saber and Caster as an extremely perverted (and genre-savvy) AKEMI HOMURA. Okay fine, Caster doesn’t sound like HomuHomu, BUT WORK WITH ME PEOPLE.
Oh wait, what do we have here?
I kinda forgot to mention Fate/Apochrya here. The aborted fetus of an MMO idea from TYPE-MOON. Sadly the idea didn’t pan out so well, but we’re getting the design materials and sidestories from that dead project. Apparently a moemoe Jack the Ripper turned out to be a bit more popular with the fans than one thought.
Truth be told, if you’re a TYPE-MOON fan, this has been the BEST YEAR EVER.
Tomorrow: I hope to collect my jaw from the floor with super robots.
