Time for a bit of realtalk, you guys.  I don’t often bring up political issues because of the very nature of the content here, but it is a big focus for me.

I’ll begin by saying I have some reservations about celebrating the death of anyone, but I’m sure this is a great day of relief for the American people and hopefully is the beginning of a transitional period away from the militarism we’ve exercised over the last decade.  American’s who have felt threatened by his war declaration, lost family or friends to the Afghanistan war, or lost those same close people to them in the 9/11/2001 attacks, should be happy about this news – because the self-defense of you and your loved ones has definitely met justice tonight.

Commendations to the soldiers for their fine job.

That being said, I wouldn’t openly be celebrating this in the streets (like some undoubtedly will).  President Obama made very clear in his speech he doesn’t want this to be seen as a religious war or attack of any sort.  By having something like video of open celebration, our enemies will eventually see this through the internet or otherwise and feel pain for their lost leader and feelings of anger and hatred for the American people.  That will only lead more people and radicals to their cause.  It’s certainly understandable as an American who was declared war on, especially if you were personally effected by the Afghanistan war, that you would feel relief Osama has died, but let’s all just have our sighs of content and move on.  We just did what had to be done in the defense of our people.

Come talk about it with us on ventrillo!

Also, I have two finals starting in seven hours.  Fuck.
