Touhou 12.8 – Touhou Sangessei ~ Great Fairy War [Orange Farm Archive]

This is Darkslime reporting directly from Japan, bringing you news on ZUN’s latest scheduled creation, Touhou 12.8.
And no seriously, this is important! ZUN finally caved(pun intended) and is making a game where Cirno is the only playable character.
The game is obviously based on the Three Fairies manga serialization. He’s been planning to make it since way back when the second Strange and Bright Nature Deity tankobon came out, but he hasn’t had enough time.
In any case, the game looks almost more like Uwabami Breakers. Apparently you play by freezing the danmaku rather than dodging all of it (that counter in the bottom right, i believe) and you fight against each of the Three Fairies.
Looks like a neat little mini-game, at least. Better go get started on reading Sangessei!
Also, news from Wild and Horned Hermit is that it contains an original character. I’m not too much of a fan of the art style, though. I can definitely see why ZUN chose it, however. The magazine actually comes out today, but I have no idea where I would get it, so…
A very very very teasable year. Since Touhou 12 its Touhou 12.3, then 12.5 and now 12.8. I don’t mind playing a game that only use Cirno (in fact I like it) but I really want Touhou to reach 13 someday =w=.
How very Cirno-ish to freeze danmakus. No frogs tho? D:
