I had high hopes for this show, ever since I saw the first trailer in April of 2009.  I mourned the extra waiting when it didn’t air in the Winter 09/10 season.  But holy shit, was the wait worth it.  This show did not disappoint.  It was better than even I expected.

I <3 Suppressors

A quick backstory on Cat Shit One is that this series based of the manga Apocalypse Meow, which was set in the Vietnam War era.  The creators here took the artisitc license to set this show sometime around the Iran hostage crisis.  A fact that I have no problem with.

Shove em and shoot em, switch weapons, repeat

The graphics alone are very impressive.  I can’t begin to imagine the kind of budget that went into this show.  But I can say it was worth every penny.  The designs of buildings, sand, guns, and even as accurate as shell casings popping out is just mind blowing.  But that’s not to detract from the soundtrack, which compliments the action perfectly.   Color me impressed.

He selected RPG-7X2 as his secondary, lol

I was also very impressed by the use of binoculars and scopes in the epsiode.  Gotta love your recon.  Another impressive item are the special effects.  Explosions are utterly beautiful.  Grenades actaully frag like they are supposed to, smoke traps set smoke, muzzle flashes are good, and shell shock is always a treat.  The characters accurately check munitions, and check corners and their six.  They reload as well.  They have personality.  Oh god, this show was nothing short of amazing.

SHEEEELLLL SHOOOOOOOCK

This premiere has the two main characters so far, Packy and Botasky, rescuing three two hostages taken captive by terrorst camels.  Sound lame, but this is nothing short of baller.  Backup is going to take too long, so they decide to use tactics to infiltrate the base to rescue the hostages.  After racking up a kill streak, they split up of evacuate, Packy staying behind, making a last stand before a chopper gunner utterly annhilates the settlement, and all the tangoes within.  Finally, you can’t finish without this…

I WANT MORE

I hope the upcoming eps continue to impress.  If you like military genre-type stuff, give this show a shot.  It’ll blow your mind, except without the need for .50cal aspirin.
